High speed photography is an essential part of experimental fluid dynamics. Dynaflow, Inc.® not only has expertise in high speed fluid phenomena such as jet impact and dynamics and cavitation bubbles, but also has various equipment for high speed photography. Our expertise and photographic equipments are well suited for studies in general hydrodynamics studies, explosion bubbles, cavitation dynamics, liquid drop impact, vortex flows, and jet flows.

Major components of  Dynaflow visualization capabilities include:

• IDT Y-3 monochrome high speed video imaging system capable of frame rate from 2,000fps (1280 x 1024 pixels) to 130,000 fps (1280 x 16),
•  Redlake MotionScope PCI high speed video imaging systems including 8,000 frames/sec monochrome camera and 4,000 frames/sec color camera ,
•  PCI and USB based integrated multi-functional data acquisition systems, with up to 16 analog & 48 digital channels, 16-bit resolutions and a 1.25 MHz sampling rate,
•  2 HYCAM high speed movie cameras capable of 40,000 quarter frames/sec,
•  MiDAS integrated data acquisition system with 8 analog & 6 digital channels and a 1.25 MHz sampling rate,
•  Various lighting equipment for high speed visualization applications ,
•  Plexiglas vacuum cells with electric spark discharge to study explosion & cavitation bubble dynamics,
•  A 72 x 5 x 4.5 ft tank with a wave-maker and Plexiglas walls over half of its length,
•  An 80 ft tank with a towing carriage and Plexiglas walls over its full length.
•  Several vacuum cells including a large 3 x 3 x 3 ft Plexiglas vacuum cell with 2.5 in thick walls for low ambient pressure spark tests
•  Eight high voltage generators, which enable spark discharge at controlled times and generation of bubbles with sizes between a few millimeters and a few centimeters.
