Dynaflow Inc. has several testing facilities for material erosion studies. These include:

  • Two test units for ASTM G32 - Cavitation Erosion testing using two 20 kHz vibratory
  • ultrasonic horns test units
  • ASTM G73 liquid impingement erosion testing:  750 ft/s impact at a rate of 28,000 impacts per minute, whirling arm facility (up to).
  • ASTM G76 Test Method for Conducting Erosion Tests by Solid Particle Impigment using Gas Jets.
  • Jet Erosion Testing: Several DynaJets® cavitating jet facilities enabling jet pressures from a few psi to 40,000 psi and flow rates from 1 gpm to 70 gpm.
  • ASTM G134 - Erosion by Cavitating Liquid Jets Testing:  A standard loop for the erosion of solid materials by cavitating liquid jets.
  • Droplet Impact Erosion: Testing using DynaJets® cavitating jets for droplet erosion testing.
  • A Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar (SHPB) : For the measurement of the high strain rates properties of materials.
  • Analytical Balances (2) with an accuracy of 0.1 mg.
  • Depth Gauges (2) with accuracy of 10-3 inch.
  • Metallurgical Microscope with image capture (Motic).
  • A Profilometer
  • Lapping Machine (South Bay).
  • Heat treating ovens

Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar

Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar used to measure properties at high strain rates in the thousands of in/in/sec which can differ by an order of magnitude from those for quasi static loading.
